About Greenwich Market
Greenwich Market was established in 1737 and granted a Royal Charter in 1849. Above
the columned entrance you can see these words inscribed:
"A FALSE BALANCE IS ABOMINATION TO THE LORD BUT A JUST WEIGHT IS HIS
DELIGHT".
This vibrant market is probably London's best source for arts & crafts,
hand crafted items, unique gifts and crafting trends, and
collectables &
antiques. Enjoy the flair of this distinctive market and discover
unusual arts & crafts from over 120 stalls.
Located near the Thames and Greenwich
Pier, the market is close to well known historical places and
geographical landmarks, including the Cutty Sark, Old Royal Observatory, National Maritime Museum
and Queens House, Royal Naval College (Greenwich University), Greenwich
Royal Parks and the Fan Museum, and only a short ride away from Britain's highest building Canary Wharf and
the world's biggest dome the Millennium Dome.
Historically related to Maritime Greenwich are: King Henry VIII, Queen
Elizabeth I, Lord Nelson, Admiral Hardy, General Wolfe, Henry Earl of
Romney and Charles Dickens. Unusual shops invite to browse, and a large variety of gastronomy,
including restaurants, cafs, bars and pubs offer a warm welcome within
the surroundings of Greenwich Market.
About Lusches (UK)
Since I can remember I have had the
nickname "Lusches". I guess it is easier to remember than my real name,
Lothar Ullrich, so consequently this tag has stuck. Although with a master
of science degree in civil engineering and several years of having been
working as a civil engineer, my working life has always been in IT, an area
that I have specialised in for the last 20 years. It is with this knowledge
and the Internet technology explosion that I have become a
self-employed IT consultant and established Lusches (UK) in 1994.
Over the last 20 years I have also worked
with some of Europe's IT leaders in the development of software in Computer
Aided Design (CAD) and helpdesk support for data backup systems, I was
director and partner of some limited companies in Germany selling and
installing hardware and software products, until I finally got more and more
involved in programming and designing websites for small businesses.
Between 1997 and 1998 I was on a one year
sabbatical, in this period I got involved in London's world famous Greenwich
Market for arts & crafts, importing European sculptures to sell to the
masses, it is from this experience combined with my IT knowledge that the
Greenwich Market website was born. I used this site as a toe tester to see
how the Internet could help market traders and enhance their small
businesses.
greenwich-market.co.uk is now one of the
most successful websites in promoting arts and crafts. Lusches (UK) has many
years of professional experience and the necessary expertise to make sure,
that best results and innovative designs at affordable prices are delivered.
